The Emma Marguerite White Spilman series includes a scrapbook, album, yearbooks, programs, school grade report, announcement, pamphlet, photographs, and postcards, relating to the personal and family affairs of the descendants of Richard Bragg, especially those of the Bragg-White-Spilman family. Topics include travel, religious activities, damage to Little Rock buildings caused by the cyclone of 2 Oct. 1894, and particularly to the education of Isabella H. Bragg at Little Rock's Sherman High School (ca. 1880-1883), Maria Edwina Bragg in at Ben C. Brown Art School in Little Rock (ca. 1893-1894), T. Guy Bragg at Little Rock's Scott Street High School (ca. 1885-1888), Robert Bragg White (ca. 1905-1909), and Emma Marguerite White at Little Rock Senior High School (ca. 1907-1911). The William K. Spilman Photographic Series (173 items, 83 negatives and 90 positive paper prints) relates to the religious education of children in the Synod of Arkansas, Presbyterian Church U.S.; Presbyterian summer camps at Petit Jean Mountain; buildings at Arkansas College, Batesville, Ark.; and to church buildings in Arkansas cities.

The Synod of Arkansas was erected as an Old School synod in 1852 by the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. Richard Bragg, planter and real estate investor, was born 29 Dec. 1825 in New York City and moved to Little Rock from Philadelphia in Feb. 1849.
